In the truck 13.8 l/100 km , 590 km, Ottawa and back along 45 & hwy 7, they are secondary roads , 80 kmphr road, traveling between 90-95 most of the time

Damn, I was hoping in that kind of environment your truck would get 11's.  Since that's basically the best fuel economy your going to get, 90-95.

I thought the truck he was talking about was the 2011 Silverado, with the 5.3L V8?
I forget how old AB's truck is, the new GMs may hit 11s on a trip like that.   For a truck, I've basically come to accept that when I do buy one, the average will be in the 14s, Anything better will be gravy.

My friend claims he's averaging around 12s with his new Tacoma.

that's why i think the 2013 / 2014s might hit what you hoped for.

I guess there is some marginal gains in the new ones.  But according to the EPA, which is pretty accurate, when driving at those speeds.

He should hit 20 mpg with the 4wd version without too much problems.

For the Wrangler so far, one half-tank (33.932L) and 263 KM later of roughly 50/50 stop and go combined with highway @100kph yields 12.9 lphk

50,000km : 390.4L + many kWh later ...

You must do a lot of short trips

I commute every working days e-km only except few very nasty cold days and I burn gas when I do long ride when i have no time or place to recharge... Best of both world? Maybe not but fair enough !
Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

More idling than usual, too, with setting things up in the car (Bluetooth, Scangauge, Nav)

On my trip to Edmonton earlier this month I averaged 6.2 L /100kms in the Versa. Average highway speed was probably around 110-115 kph, at which the antidelluvian 4-speed A/T keeps the engine turning at 2600 rpm more or less. According to the review on here that's much less than the new Honda Fit with CVT that apparently winds out at 3800 rpm at 120 kph.

That was with the manual.

jeep is still at 12.0L...

it was up to 12.4, but then i was in stop and go traffic... it's crazy... just the shape kills efficiency at high speeds, so it's better to be stuck in traffic than to be bootin it on the highway.

i've just started being smarter about filling up... so only fill up at a few stations that are notoriously cheaper... keeps my yearly gas bill closer to previous years in little cars.

My 2nd refueling netted 11.44, but that was 180KM hwy and 190KM mixed 50/50, so an unscientific 370 KM 75/25 hwy/cty.

Hitting 6 regularly with the Note, calculated fill to fill, not looking at the computer.  The beauty of it all is I can drive this car north of 100 without penalty, for sure it's the CVT, extremely pleased.

550km of highway driving plus 150km of city errands in the Highlander yielded a very good 9.1L/100km. The HL does well on the highway as long as you stay at the speed limit or less. Get to 120 or more and it starts to get thirsty real fast.

Been averaging 8.9L/100km in the car since I've been on vacation for the last couple of weeks and that is on hwy and rural roads and most often with a kayak strapped to the rack.  So far I have burnt less than 60L in the lawn tractor this year which is the least amount in the 6 years I've been here.  Most years I use it more for landscaping and hauling stuff around the yard than mowing, but haven't done much this season other than move a few loads of firewood around.
