I know I am responding to an old post but it comes up when you search for Alan Ferman. I just leased a Volkswagen Jetta through Alan and I wanted to comment on the level of service I received:
In short, the service was A++.
I found out about Alan through a neighbour who had used him to lease a Lexus. I found Alan's team to be incredibly responsive and fair - in our first conversation Alan himself helped me filter between the car options I was considering. Alan leases all makes and models and is very knowledgeable about car issues that one wouldn't normally find in a google search (e.g., maintenance issues post-warranty for a particular make). I felt like I was getting advice as opposed to salesmanship - this is partly because he leases all makes and models (so doesn't need to push one make over another), but also because he seems more interested in building loyalty than making a quick buck on a single sale.
Since I hadn't used Alan before I will admit that I held him to task by comparing his pricing to several other dealers - while the dealerships forced me to negotiate back and forth to get my pricing down, Alan's first and only price beat them all.
Alan's team was extremely patient and answered all of my questions (some of which were pretty obtuse). They were also personable and genuine. I loved that my car was delivered to my house and I was given a thorough tour of the vehicle and given a number of valuable suggestions regarding maintenance. For example, I didn't realize that I didn't have to use the dealership to service my vehicle (as long as I make sure to get everything done as required and keep detailed receipts).
I realize now that Alan's marketing strategy is entirely word of mouth - which I am sure he gets because of the high service level. Presumably this allows Alan to keep his marketing and overhead costs very low, which in the end allows him to be extremely competitive! Extremely rare and refreshing to find in the car sales business.
I do not write reviews online but I was so pleased with my experience with Alan Ferman that I had to.
