$32,900 for a boring looking FWD 4 cylinder Acura, with 7 speaker sound system and keyless entry.

$31,900 + 3.2% Financing for 60 months. for a sporty looking RWD V6 Lexus, with 13 speaker sound system and Smart Key.

Hmmmm, difficult decision.

The silver pirate tooth is a big turn off, otherwise a car I really really like.

I agree.  Looking at the IS this year and it seems like the better buy.  Also the Merc C230 is pretty good too.

I Agree  People will hem and haw about the Merc's reliability, but neither Acura nor Lexus can play the reliability card against each other.  Unless someone really wants FWD or the Acura's extra rear-seat legroom, I can't fathom getting a TSX over an IS250 if the TSX is more expensive.

Agreed also. The only problem with the IS is the stupidly priced options. Otherwise you would see a LOT more of them...

But yeah at base vs. base the IS250 is a better choice IMO....on teh other hand many people don't care about or know about FWD vs. RWD.

The IS starts at 32K now??? Wow, nice. Did they drop their price or something? I remember when I was pricing the IS that the "luxury" options added up to quite a lot on the Lexus, but I also remember sitting in a bare, no options IS thinking it still looked high quality and felt upscale.

Yes, Lexus made a huge price drop on the IS, something like $5-6k?

I saw the 09 TSX "in the flesh" tonight (was at Acura for a winter/summer tire swap). It had just arrived yesterday.

Black with tan interior, and nav. For those who disliked the wood trim, you will be happy to know the trim with the tan is now aluminum.

Looked perhaps a little better in person. Larger "stance", looks more substantial, a little more aggressive, but grille is still ugly to me, and back end still looks too plain and bulbous to me. The interior is more spacious, more like the TL. I think the interior is very well-done.

I still prefer the old one, but hubby likes this one better. "Looks less like a chick car" was his rationale.  Roll Eyes  The lack of a Type S or V6 I think will be a problem, especially since the IS has come down significantly in price. Has the IS been decontented at all? If not, Acura's going have a problem....

The IS was a straight up price cut.

Base model is cloth of course but who cares, you could throw the leather for just $5k. Roll Eyes

I thought the forum had already come to a consensus that your husband has shitty taste in cars?   Grin

Mitlov's referring to the times I've tried to convince my hubby to trade his Toyota Camry for a BMW 3-series coupe.

His answers have been something to the effect of, "There's no bloody way I'd trade a Camry for a BMW!"

Thus his reputation for bad taste in cars.  ROFL
