No warranty on US VW's
« on: April 13, 2008, 02:29:48 pm »
I see on the APA site that VW is now listed as " full warranty for 2008 model year....no warranty on 2009's"

Wonder how long "autobaun pricing" will last? ::)
My first ever GM ownership experience  can best be described as   "Fool me once...."

Funny, I was at the recent 08 Vancouver Auto Show and VW had a 2009 Jetta TDI Sport Edition on display with the message "U.S. model Sport Edition not available in Canada".  Gorgeous car, but why tease us with it if you're only going to offer it in the U.S.  Seems like they offer the "must have" vehicles, such as the R32, to the U.S. market but not Canadians.

Then they come up with this Robin-Hood-like noble cause (Autobahn) that they are lowering prices because they feel everyone should be able to afford their cars.  They slightly lower their prices and will no longer honour warranties on cars brought in by Canadians who are looking for fair pricing and perhaps a nicer model.

Yup, Autobomb for all

Yep.....VW seems to have joined the "Ve haff vays of making you pay" school of marketing favoured by BMW and Mercedes.
