Another twist.

The car we had been expecting was supposed to be silver with a charcoal interior.

Salesman calls Mrs_T this afternoon and says the car has arrived and is parked by the pair of boats on the dealer's lot.

After work I stop by for a gander. It's been a long day and the dealer is closed. The only Outback Touring with a manual transmission is brown on gold with a light tan interior. It is indeed parked by the two boats.

We like the exterior well enough, but light tan, cloth interior with a family?

It's almost an M Night Shyamalan story. Can't wait to see how this turns out!

And please keep the humour coming, I can certainly use it at this point!

Talk about the left hand and the right hand....geez how come they couldn't tell you about this earlier - they had to have the papers on the car before it was even shipped. In fact once it has been built they get notice and IIRC this was a recently built car on factory order.

I think a check of the paperwork is in order to see if the paperwork matches. It sounds like a late switch or a dealer trade and they just forgot to tell you!

Still it is a nice color and while the interior is harder to keep clean, our 03 Forester with the tan wasn't bad. Well today should be fun. Good luck. ::)

Well it's done!

Apart from the colour issue, this has been a really painless experience. I got a fair trade for the Vibe, reasonable price for the car, and the only thing they tried to pad the bill with was the "admin" fee, which was waived. No etching, no undercoating, no Scotchguard or extended warranty blather. The car was very well detailed, full tank of fuel, my radio stations were programed and the car very thoroughly explained.

I've added a few pictures to flicker, I'll figure out how to arrange things better at some point, so excuse the flood images!

Can I offer a suggestion?  Buy some Wet Okole seat covers if you are concerned about getting those seats dirty.  At least for the back where the kiddies sit.  These are some of the highest quality seat covers I've seen.  Saw them in a Lexus before, and they looked very good. Check them out.  www.wetokole.com

Here's a pic on a Forester, but you get the idea. ANY colour combo you want.  They are neoprene covered in fabric so they are waterproof.  Top notch.  Might be a good investment for you!

Big Thumb - nice purchase! I like the two-tone, and the Outback is one of the nicest looking vehicles IMO. I'm partial to tan, so I think that's a nice color interior. Maybe the suggestion by rrocket will do the trick to protect the interior.

Thanks rrocket. They look like a quality product!

Thanks everyone. Just came back from a family drive. Very pleased with how the car works and the trip computer gave a running average of 8.4l/100km which is encouraging!

You know what? that colour combo says some intelligent thoughtful people bought a Subaru. Its typical Subaru.

Congratulations. Nice ride.

Congrats!....that's a very nice colour combination. I'm a big fan of the look of tan coloured interiors myself. The SRX is beige and it hasn't been too bad to keep clean so far.

Those seat covers look fantastic - almost Volvo T-Tec cloth look.

Big_Thumb, that's honestly a very visually upscale colour and trim both inside and out. Mocha's hot, and although the light tan may be difficult to keep clean, I REALY like it. Plus a manual tranny, superb!

Congrats again!
