Air Filters

Hi again,
Does anyone know for sure or "Have a Gut Feel" whether or not the aftermarket air filters such as K & N really do anything .?? All sorts of claims are made but I dont know anyone personally that actually has one.
The application would be on a Silverado with the 4.8l engine,Auto Transmission , 1/2 ton PU

When a foam air cleaner like K and N is perfectly clean it does flow a little easier than a paper element. With a stock airbox, however, the difference in hp numbers is going to be virtually moot. Also you must remember that k and n filters don't filter as well as the OEM paper elements.

good question i am as well unsure of about the oil damaging the mass air flow sensor because the PVC hose sucks in the oil that surpasses the intake in to the oil pan but still unsure of that as well but if u want a real breather air filter get green air filter the fibres of cotton is spreed further apart then k&N
