Used Vehicle Review:
Nissan Maxima, 2004-2007

Nissan Maxima, 2004-2007Sixth-generation Nissan Maximas have been generally reliable, says Contributing Editor, Chris Chase, but 2004 models "suffered from the bugs that plague many first-year models." Consumer Reports notes issues with brakes, suspension and climate control systems, he says.

I've always thought the Maxima was a hot looking sedan, but when the Altima showed up with the same size and the 3.5 (and just as attractive in my opinion), it may have wound up cannibalizing sales.

Kinda like the Versa is effectively as big from an interior perspective as the Sentra, albeit at least with different engine displacements in either model.

Or the Civic SI sedan and the Acura CSX.  Or a loaded Camry SE V6 and the Lexus IS 250.

6 of one, half dozen of the other when shopping at this price point.  I'd always go for the brand image, all else being reasonably the same...

I really don't understand the purpose of this generation Maxima, when you have an Altima that's the same size, which has the same drivetrain, and can be loaded up with most of the interior goodies, for thousands less.

Not to mention that for sheer style, the Altima Coupe wins hands down.

For Maxima money can't you get a TL?
