Aside from the driver, you mean. Brutal crash... it's hard to tell what happened in the video, but apparently the truck rolled down an embankment and burst into flame - after driving 40km in the wrong lane. Amazing no one else was even hit. I'm also confused as to why no one called the police - the video says the truck spent 30 minutes traveling in the wrong lane.  |

It hit a bridge abutment and plunged between the divided highways onto the roadway below. There must've been a few freaked out people on that road. Can you imagine a semi driving toward you on the wrong side of the road at highway speed? Some witnesses claimed that the driver seemed to be aiming for them. |

Actually, it landed on the railway below (see the video clip again). Good thing there was no train, such as VIA or a hazardous goods train. Could have been much worse. |

Reports say the driver was a diabetic... The sad thing is that driving in Edmonton getting so bad that we can take a speeding semi going the wrong way down the Yellowhead in stride as long as it doesn't block the Timmies drive through.  |

C'mon, he goes all that distance down the Yellowhead, back and forth between the right direction and driving in on-coming traffic, making it through corners and intersections (yup, Edmonton "freeways" are rife with traffic lights) asleep or in a diabetic coma? This guy lost his marbles, not his blood sugar... |
