My Red Dog
« on: March 16, 2008, 03:39:28 am »
I'm serious, that's what it says on the registration.  Red Dog.

Anyways.  92 Dodge D150 1/2 ton V8.
bought for 1300, put 2000 in repairs :(
Lots of rust.  It's my winter beater.  Don't wanna get the triple beam dirty ;)

My truck got hit by a snow plow while parked in the Hammer over the weekend, so I'm really glad i was driving it and not the bimmer.

I'm surprised at how bad mileage i get actually.  i drove to london and back, and i was getting about 13-14 mpg.

I'm gonna try to learn to weld and fix er up.

Does it have big 'ol knobbly snow tires?

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Which engine is in it as the V8's are a little high on fuel usage in the winter but the 6's are usually not too bad. For your purpose this truck should last you a few good years and serve you well overall. They don't have to be pretty but reliable for any winter beater and a truck is always handy to have as a 2nd vehicle as well.  :)

320,000 kilometers.  Yep, knobby snow tires.

i know it's a little late, but yeah, a truck is really practical.

Last summer i had to go to a bike race, and i had to load my coupe up with large rubbermaid tote bins and bike parts and a bbq.  it rained so when i loaded everything back in, it got the inside of my car all wet and smelly, and the bbq grease trap leaked too.

also, i'm fixing up my house, and don't feel like toting 2X4s and bags of cement around in my coupe either.

yeah i got the V8, 5.2 L engine.
