Transport Canada Receives More Criticism
« on: March 12, 2008, 09:08:25 am »
This not directly related to Topic but it is similiar to theft immobilizer issue on RIV list in that they are refusing to allow Zenn (Cdn.-Quebec) electric vehicles because
of concern with no crash tests.
The B.C. Transport Minister on CBC news last night said it is gov't responsibility to lead and if they allow Vespas/bicycles who is kidding who?

Link? More info?

Why can't Zenn do a crash test or two?

If they can't afford it then I've got to wonder how much they've spent on engineering their cars in the first place. If the car can't pass the crash tests then it shouldn't be on the road.

Why is this an issue?
To err is human, to blame it on someone else is even more human.

While I agree with most of Wolfe's points, the vehicle is a low speed vehicle and has been approved for the road in most of Europe and the US.  They've been making and selling these for several years.  This has been an ongoing saga of BS answers from TC, previous reason was some paperwork not being filed that they had filed.  Has been on the news alot, but was approved back in November if I'm not mistaken:
