I would love a VW TDI. But I would rather have a TDI in Euroland because if TDI broke it would not cost a kings ransom to fix. Plus in the winter  Diesel are a real drag when gets 10 below. I think if I lived in Toronto it would make lot of sense because Toronto is so vast and I tend to travel all over it. Well I did when I live there some years back. Small town and small trips never give the diesel anytime to really work.

1996 Passat Wagon in Diesel...did they not call that a TDI as well?

Had a 2001 Jetta tdi that was very hard on mass airflow sensors. Didn't find it economical to drive due to high maintenance costs, or dependable, and traded it.

I wonder with ultra low sulfur gas out now,  would you had  less problem
My son has 2006 Jetta TDI for a year now, no problems with the engine
