Topic: Yellowing headlight

My 2000 Honda Accord has one headlight assembly that is yellowing. The other one is like new.  I noticed it last fall and has gotten worse over the winter. If it was age they both would be yellowing (like all the the old Ford's). I have not examined it too closely yet.

I was wondering if moisture got inside it. If so is it possible to take it out and clean the moisture from inside and restore it.

If that cannot be done I guess will try and find a 2nd hand one from a scrapper.

PS: Any reccomendation for a good source of used parts in Montreal area would be welcome.

Take a good look at the headlight - if it's on the outside, you should see clear signs of dried out plastic.  There are plastic restoration compounds available, but I'm not sure which ones work well; maybe one of the avid detailers here could chime in.  For preventative measure, you should wax the headlights whenever you wash the car.

Yes i second that. It worked great on my father in laws 98 Grand Cherokee and 97 Intrepid plastic headlights.

    I will look closely but I do not think it is on outside of lens. Why would one turn yellow and the other look like new? Cars I have seen with this problem have both lights looking bad in the same manner.

     That is why I suspect something inside going wrong. Maybe when bulb replace the seal was not properly sealed etc etc.
