Me too.  Love the double spoke design...  they seem to suit Honda (and most Japanese cars) very well for whatever reason.

Great ride - definitely one of the coolest (and most practical) cars in its segment.

Pretty colour :)

The dealership is useless if you try to get help for the third gear notchyness (and cold grinding).  You should be able, however, to buy the amsoil from most specialty/tuner car shops on the lower mainland and get them to do the quick flush.

Thanks, guys!

Sivic, I'll see how bad the gear-grinding issue is.  So far, it's not enough to bother me.

LOL.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

I have yet to rev the car up as I'm still in the long process of breaking-in the car right, but there are several key differences b/w the Mazda3 and an Si.

One would be the transmission.  I'm having a real difficult time shifting it smoothly.

Second would be harshness.  The Si has a real-tight suspension and every bump on the road can be felt (which I don't mind).

Third... LSD!  I have yet to drive the car hard, but boy, having a differential in a FWD car really helps.

I'll do a detailed comparison once the car is fully broken-in, and will expand on these three points in detail.

So far, i've noticed that the car has much less power in 4th and 5th gear than the Mazda3.  But nothing that a quick rev-match downshift cannot fix.

:)

One would be the transmission.  I'm having a real difficult time shifting it smoothly.

Besides the odd reluctance of the 6-speed gearbox to engage 3rd (and grind instead), the tranny is marvellous.

The real problem is the drive by wire programming.  It makes drives look like they don't know how to drive stick.  It holds the RPMs after you take your foot off the gas (to improve emissions), revs jump up when cold, and there is a significant difference (crude engagement) with the throttle from completely off to even 1% engaged.

You're lucky Honda "upgraded" their originally 2006 programming too!

anyway  that's about it with my rant.

Oh- and also wish the car came with a stock remote trunk release (or at least a handle) or even a factory alarm.

I'm not sure how a transmission in a new car that grinds gears can still rate a "marvellous" - the magic/mystic of the silver "H"? The SPEC-V I had ground 2nd & 3rd (amongst other issues) and I didn't consider it "marvellous" nor did the dealership and it was replaced.

For that, I am grateful.

Though I wished there was a key-fob to open up the rear trunk as I rarely use keyless entry.

So far, I'm not having 3rd-gear grinding issues at all.

The DBW is really irritating 'cuz today, I was giving a ride to a friend and he commented on my shifting skills.  Funny 'cuz when I downshifted, he didn't feel anything.

So I guess there is some benefit to DBW.  Though i upshift way more than i downshift...

I wouldn't know yet as I've yet to go past 6,000 rpm.  Still breaking it in gently...  750 more kms to go!
