Saving for a new car
« on: December 22, 2007, 02:32:07 pm »
I can save up over the next two years for a downpayment of 24k including my trade in. what car do you suggest?

Toyota FT HS
Cadillac 2 door CTS
RX-8
Ford 150 harley davidson edition
G6 2 door coupe
Mazda 6 ( i really would like to know what people think about this )

what i really want is a 2 door sports car, something with a huge spoiler and very slick lines. its so hard to find something like this and i have been so picky. I want a hybrid to save more $ but they are taking ages & ages to come out.

monthly paymnts that i want to make would be starting at 400 with the max being 550.

right now i am taking teh bus everywhere im 23 years old. and i want a car so that i can actually hold down another job & not have to waste so much of my time on the bus because the transit system here is complete sh*t

PS as a note i am fully aware of my spelling mistakes & i appologize for annoying anyone that may have trouble reading this post.

PPS and yes i do have a trade in, i have had a car for 6 years its a 2000 honda civic hatchback that I will never drive that has 70K on it. I want a car that looks much nicer than that. I dont drive it.

I love the Mazda 6. 27,000 km in 9 months and only one minor problem: Rattle in Premium Bose speaker. I mentioned it to the dealer but was told that they can't reproduce it. I'm afraid to push it because they might make it worse tinkering in there. I've not heard many people being ecstatic about their treatment at the local Mazda stealership. But I love the way the car looks, even though it is not a true speed demon it has the zoom-zoom character. It has a harsh ride, great handling and tons of space with the hatch. Not too thirsty but depends how much you push her.

You currently take the bus because you hate driving a 2000 Civic with only 70k km on it and because of this it's stopping you from holding two jobs that will enable you to afford a better one.  ???  ::)

I don't mind the spelling mistakes at all, but your post makes no sense.

i still have my learners. its a good & bad thing to put more clicks on it because i want to trade it in.

I just despise having to drive that car.

Have you factored in the insurance for the 2 door sport car?

Spend a few hundred $$$, add this to the Civic. Your original post shows you are totally clueless about cars, and life in general as well.

Why buy a Civic when stealing them is so easy?

Come on guys, I think we are being a little too harsh. It's obvious that for the original poster, a car is primarily a fashion statement. That's not my bag, but hey, it's his life (thankfully) and presumably his money.  ::) :P

new or used?
A MY2000 any car in two years will not be worth much, so just drive it and put the mileage on it
Are you hoping for CTS to have a coupe out by then, because there is not one at the moment
