I would buy this focus in a flash. Not only does It look great. It also drives great. I know Underneath not much has changed, but they have built such a great car it would be hard to top it.  :)

Why did they go for such an odd design in NA is what I'll like to know. I don't find the NA focus hideous, Just puzzling.  ???

The Ford Focus looks very sculpture from the front end. Very BWM. who knew BMW would have such a lasting affect on car design.  :)

Ford exterior design is controlled by two Brits. In North America we get Peter Horbury with 'Red White and Bold', while Europe and the rest of the world gets 'Kinetic Design' by Martin Smith.

They have been fighting a bit of a war for overall responsibility and AFAIK Mulally has put his weight behind Smith.

That makes a lot of sense now. I have to say that. Now I understand it, thanks. :)

Based on the results of the Focus exercise, and all the ugly plasti-chrome hung on the Taurus, I'd have to say Mulally got this one right.

The Euro Ford is definetely much better looking that the NA Ford. Ford needs to get it's act together and bring the Euro design over here. They should have changed the name of one of the designs.

I really like it.  It's has an upscale look to it inside and out.  I'd buy one.  North America really lacks choices for compact luxury/upscale vehicles in particular hatches.

Audi A3, Audi TT coupe (which is actually a 3-door hatch), loaded GTI, Volvo C30, loaded Mini Cooper S, loaded Mazdaspeed3, MB B-Class (in Canada), slightly-used Saab 9-2X, loaded Saturn Astra (or even better, the Astra-based upcoming Saab 9-1), slightly-used Lexus IS300 Sportcross...

Just because we don't get the 1-Series hatch and the Euro Focus doesn't mean that we don't have hatchbacks to choose from.  Despite that, most North American buyers (even many of those who drool over European-market hatches) choose to drive sedans instead of the hatches we do have here.

You can probably get a Volvo wagon of similar size, but where to find 1.6 turbo diesel with 4.3L/100 km ? We should really have a budget wagon here with decent mileage.

Let me repharase my statement.. North America really lacks choices for compact luxury/upscale 5 door vehicles .... I didn't say we don't have any to choose from, just that the selection is limited.

Exactly.  It would be a nice car from a mass-market brand, much like a GTI, Mazda3, or Astra.

I see a Logan, “crossover” or whatever they call it, right to the Focus in this picture. Are those on sale in Estonia too? For how much are those hideous things going? Just curious...

I think the Logan MCV is a great concept.  We need more ideas like that. Good basic transportation.

I don't know about that unless you want to go back in time.
