Two things learned about zmax after a Google search:

1. The zmax site is down.  Always a promising sign.

2. The US Federal Trade Commission sued zmax in 2001 for "unsubstantiated claims".  (http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2001/02/zmax1.shtm)

Basically, zmax does nothing for power or fuel economy, and increases wear on your engine.

Get that crap out of your car.

Oops, site is back up.  Could've been my end.  From their "About Us" page:

The ability of zMAX ® to soak into metal more than any other product while helping to dissolve and prevent harmful deposits is only the beginning of the story.

Mmmmmm....soaking.

Interesting, if it does half what it says it does, than is very nice indeed.

Yeah, but it doesn't.  There have been dozens of articles completely debunking these "miracle additives" from third-party sources, such as car magazines and universities.  Here's one such article from Minnesota State University:

http://www.mnsu.edu/news/read/?paper=topstories&id=old-1086498001

Think of it this way...if you could really boost power AND fuel efficiency in any car with just an inexpensive additive, wouldn't Texaco and friends be selling "premium power-boost" fuel?
"Geography has made us neighbors. History has made us friends. Economics has made us partners. And necessity has made us allies. Those whom nature hath so joined together, let no man put asunder. What unites us is far greater than what divides us." -- John F. Kennedy, addressing Canadian Parliament.

So, they sold snake oil in 2001, but now they're selling magic in a bottle, is that it?

You have a connection to zmax.  You started off asking, "anyone try it ?"  Now when people point out articles about zmax being crap, you defiantly declare you are going to buy more of this crap.  Do you have the distribution rights to your area or something?

I bet nowhere on the site it says "we have run a dyno with a 97 grand am on the CSA test facilities and got a documented power increase of --%" I guess it would be too bad for the campaign.

But some of the televised crap turns out true. Like that magic bullet e.g, is decent after all. And I am waiting for that bagless vac that filters dust thru water in it.
