Did a 3707 km loop with the truck visiting family and friends over Christmas in Alberta and BC, actually made it back
Modded the truck a bit before going:
-additional lights as post accident my vision is a bit fuzzy. Cibie CSR's from Daniel Stern did not arrive in time so I fitted regular halogens. Brightened up in front of the truck, useful to hold the line on dark pavement.
-TomTom 140 GPS salvaged from my motorcycle. Surprisingly useful, even on this simple route. Showed curves ahead in conditions of limited vision, gave a constant rundown of arrival time, read out range and township roads.
-a round paper air filter replaced the square oiled K&N type, which had tended to run rich in snowstorms.
Truck ran very well. Had an air shock connector to shorten and refit, a signal light connection to shine up, the worst thing was ironically the new afterrmarket air filter housing, which broke it's mounting bolt, thankfully not into the engine. Replaced with a new bigger bolt, and all was well. Engine only used a liter of oil.
