Today's Used Vehicle Review:

Volkswagen Eurovan, 1992-2003

Volkswagen Eurovan, 1992-2003The VW Eurovan is tall and roomy but underpowered when compared with other minivans, says Contributing Editor, Chris Chase.  Reliability information is hard to come by, but Consumer Reports rated the 2002 model below average.

Consumer Reports' limited data points to the engine, transmission, electrical system and brakes as the main Eurovan trouble spots

:o So basically all the major organs of the vehicle.

Our neighbours had one of these about 10 years or so ago. It was always in the shop for repairs. It got stolen once and heavily vandalized by the thiefs who used it to loot some houses and apartments. My neighbour was all excited when he thought it was going to be written off by the insurance, then got the good bad news - that they would be able to 'fix' it. It wasn't the same after that - and given their troubles with the vehicle before the theft, it was like adding insult to injury for them.

Eventually, they found someone who liked to work on VWs - so they took it off our friends' hands. That was a most happy day for them.  ;D

Underpowered, Poor Handling top heavy lug

but an incredibly fun lifestyle vehicle :)

Remeber this van was introduced during the era of the MK2s, and the platform options were just unavailable...

Not that they would but they could release a:
New Van -- Can be eurobox style or Japanese MPV (multi purpose vehicle style)
W8 Engine or the 3.5 V6 at least
4WD/All Motion setup from the Toureg
& most importantly: a beer fridge, table and beds :D
