I'll be watching this space to see a long term update on this product. I think this is a good safety feature, as long as we don't become complaisant and/or manufacturers use it as an excuse NOT to improve visibility.

Enjoy! :D

This is on back of a pick up truck with a cap on. I can have a car park behind me and I will not see in my mirrors.

My new Bimmer (when it GETS here.. ::)) will have the Park Distance Control feature, which is not a camera, but a beeper system that increases in volume closer you get to something.

It looks like a great safety idea, and should be also very useful for hooking up a trailer.

I'm going to install a beeper system on my truck if I have time this weekend, got it for thirty bucks so thought 'what the hell'.

We have both the sensors (front and back) as well as a backup camera.  Camera rules.

What did you use to feed power to the camera? Did you splice in the backup light circuits or did you run a dedicated power circuit? Just curious.

Hook in the back up light, so it only on when the car goes into reverse.

HI, WE BOUGHT ONE OF THESE FOR OUR TACOMA, BUT HAVEN'T INSTALLED IT YET, WAS THINKING OF CONNECTING IT TO THE PARKING LIGHTS, SO IT'S ALWAYS ON.  WHAT DO YOU THINK? IS YOURS STILL WORKING GOOD?

It is still working great.
In the instruction it reads do not have it on all the time, as it will burn out quickly
The only thing you have to is clean off the camera daily to get the dirty off the camera

What do you (or it) mean by "burn out quickly"?  This little unit would be perfect for a RHD car to better see oncoming traffic when turning or passing, but it seems like that would mean leaving it on all the time.

I guess one could connect it to a blinker...
