:censor:.

It's officially begun (on a more massive scale).

Will it be their own undoing in the end, or will it help stimulate demand and keep the Canadian economy hot?

Going for another "grandpa car" - i.e. Buick.  Either an Allure or a Lucerne - if GM can get their act together and come up with prices that approach the U.S. reality.  I could get a Lucerne in the States for several thousand less than an Allure here in Canada.  But I'm leasing, so all I can do is look south and hope...

Have to admit to finding the Lucerne exceedingly handsome and elegant. Best of luck!

Good question.  I could not find it anywhere.  All that was there was the 0% on the 2007 models.  To be fair, Kia Canada has a tradition of being a bit slow to update its official advertising, specifically its website. ::) :(

Neil, I know you're a stand-up guy but I have to ask again:  Exactly where on Kia Canada's website does it mention these price reductions? ???

If you go to the website you will see a big splashy area offering 0% financing on 2007 models.  Clicking on that brings you to the special offers section which then gives you a chance to choose your province.  Choosing a province simply reveals the same info in a PDF, broken down by model.  That's it, no other deals, nada.  No mention of no payments for the first 4 months on the 2008s or that Kia will pay the GST on the 2007s.

Here is a pic:

Thanks for the breaking news, Neil (nice to see you here again!).

Is it possible that Kia's simply taking advantage of the new budget announcement and will hold back registering the purchases until the reduced GST takes effect?  Is that Jan '08?  If the 'no GST' is the only offer on '07s that they're clearing out, I think they need to go back to the drawing board.  On most Kias, what's that, about a $1000-1500 reduction?  What's Mazda knocking off Mazda6s right now by comparison?
