Congrats! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Please come to give us updates and photos.

someone mentioned to me that i probably got the child safety switch on thus can't open the door.. i will check it tomorrow.

Also, I urge you to reconsider selling those winter tires.

why is that?

if this is a complete tires+rims, i may have got the snow tires on by now. currently i have all-season , located in toronto and do mostly city driving + some 401. most of the time the street is plowed already by the time i get up in the morning. i think all-season is probably okay for me. or i just don't drive when it is big storm.

It is not the amount of snow but temperture is why you should have winter tires on.
Winter tires grip the road much better at - tempertures  ::)

Congrats on the new car!

and the door behind driverside can't open from inside after unlocking it. i can open it from outside though. hopefully not a big problem.

That's probably just the child safety locks. Open the rear door and look for the child lock switch on the door somewhere along the door jam.

To err is human, to blame it on someone else is even more human.

Congrats!!

Use the winter tires. I am assuming they costed about $500+. Safety first.  :)

We never had winter tires on our Accord till this year. Our first "snowfall" was today, and they sure handled very nicely (waayy better than our A/S).  :)

And anyway, you will be saving the wear and tear on your all seasons.

well. just came back from my first snow drive.. got quite a lot of snow last night. car stuck in the snow few times in the unplowed street.. err.

should i get separate rims for the snow tires?  what kind of rims and how much approx?  I did search on tiretrend and it has 205/60R16 available for my car model. however, the snow tires i have is 205/55R16 (i will check my current tires size later, but i think the spec is 205/60R16).

I am unsure of the tire size. But the snow tires aren't mounted on any rims? If not, just get some black steel wheels. They are typically less than $70 each for 15-16inch.

my car has the stock tires so it is 205/60R16.

so i think i am going to get a set of rims. how is steel rim? i will need to find a place that do mount/rotation whatever is needed for the changeover. any place that offer this for free if i buy rim in the shop ? :)

I would suggest the wreckers for the extra rims for the snowtires or ir not available there Canadian Tire has them for  sale on for around $50. to $60. for the average wheel . I suggest let your fingers do the walking on finding the rims you need.  :)

wreckers? that's new to me.  :o

checked canadiantire site their steel rim is around $60. i have heard of other independent shops such as tire23 and tiremag, i will check with them as well.

i guess the cheap steel rims will do it, right?

Congrats on the Mazda.. I really like the 6's.

As for steelies, you may be able to find a set on kijiji.ca or craigslist for $100-$150.  Figure another 8 to get your winters mounted and you're set. They really do make a huge difference.
