I think the X6 is nice to look at. But the shape doesn't make any sense whatsoever once you leave the photo shoot. It offers the handling of a crossover SUV with the interior space of a coupe. A true "worst of both worlds" car.

Due to its non-luxury badge, I would remove the Mazda CX-7 from the competitors list and add the LR2 perhaps. In reality, I think the EX35 only competes with the RDX at this time. The X3 and LR2 compete with each other in the "luxury compact traditional look SUV" class.
I like the CX7 very much, but it's just not a contender in the luxury class despite being a high quality product. |

The X3 and LR2 compete with each other in the "luxury compact traditional look SUV" class. The X3 is a 3-Series on stilts, and is very much in the same class as the EX35 (G35 on stilts) and RDX. It's a tall sportwagon, nothing more. Useless for towing or off-roading but far better on-road than any true off-roader. And as for "traditional look"...are you sure? I don't see it.   |

The Infiniti FX was never touted by them as having off-road capabilities. In fact, I recall one magazine advert calling it a 350Z wrapped in a raised sport-wagon body. Same concept with the EX. The FX are truly one of the nicest driving machines on the road for the $$. Very responsive - and much less bone rattling now than they used to be. I'd certainly be up for an EX if it has the family gene pool in the same direction. |

From behind, the EX35's indistinguishable from the Subaru Tribeca.  From any other angle, it looks like a bloated 4-door hatchback with a long snout. Appealing?? Not hardly. |

The EX35 seems extremely pricey to me in Canada. It's the price of the current FX35 at $55Gs, significantly more than most X3's. Sure it's luxurious and has the nifty 360d, but it's still pretty compact and that's a lotta money considering how the rest of Infiniti's line-up appears to represent good value relative to the competition.
Does anyone have base model or full pricing? |

Just priced an EX35 AWD fully loaded except for the Nav and Technical Package (Intelligent Cruise, Lane departure & Around View Monitor) on US Infiniti website.
For about $1600 US more than a CX-7 GT AWD with lux package here, you can get the following EX in the US. I like the CX-7 a lot but it just can't compete with the EX V6, ATTESA AWD system and Infiniti interior.
Darn. The CX-7 seems even more overpriced though of course we can now get low financing here and likely a better deal than MSRP... But for someone who can afford spending this kind of money, a trip South will be well worth considering, assuming Nissan/Infiniti lousy Canadian pricing strategy is carried on for the EX.

Well okay out in the west the base ex goes for 40,400 plus 1650 for freight and pdi.Pkgs are optional beginning withthe journey and working your way up from there.Love the looks by the way the long hood and rest of the dimensions are kinda of jaguar like in that cat ready to pounce sort of thing.Car is perfect for me just me and a dog,easy to ingress and engress especially for those of us with dodgy backs.The station wagon thing has a stigma attached to it plus they can be a real snot to get in and out of.Nowadays really need that awd,any decent options out there besides an outback or rdx |
