Our family has consistently had much worse luck trying to get warranty work done on Japanese cars than on the Big three.

It took 3 months for Toyota to finally replace the blown engine in my brother's Tercel, even though all parties agreed that it was a manufacturing defect.  Two dealers were bickering with each other, and with Toyota Canada before it was finally resolved.

Our network admin eventually had to pay for half of the replacement cost of his second Accord automatic transmission. When he brought it in, the dealer found no problem. Two weeks later, and coincidentally now off warranty, it was towed into the dealership.

When it comes to warranty claims the Japanese are no different than anyone else.

To bad for the Big 3 that nobody believes that.  :)
