Bank of Canada Governor Tells Shoppers To Vote With Their Feet*

Another upsurge in Cdn. dollar today past 103.5 and on this site today's news says Honda gets most loyalty of six highest volume manufacturers.
I would add further, because Honda buyers are very product savy
and given today's situation they can unpick U.S. dealer purchases thru' use of U.S. addresses and help Honda break ranks and adjust prices.
That is loyalty in the big picture.  (and I have to declare I own HMC as an ADR on N.Y. Exchange).  Has anyone thought of placards at new groundbreaking of new Head Office in Markham today?

Today's increase in the dollar was not due to an upsurge in the Canadian currency, but a downturn in the US markets.  The US stock market went down nearly 400 points/~2.6%.  The Canadian market went down, too, but our dollar came out a little better.  :)

As for this thread...  what does the title have to do with that first post?

The original post seemed pretty disjointed to me as well. ???

I think the title was refering to an article in yesterday's Report on Business section in the Globe and Mail. David Dodge was quoted saying that if prices aren't adjusted downwards to reflect the increased value of our dollar consumers should put pressure on CDN business by either shopping in the US (either in person or online) or postponing large purchases.
