I'm getting the oil changed next wednesday...does that count?     Anyway, I love the car, but I love it for reasons besides reliability (not that it's had any significant issues).  I'm sorry to hear that yours didn't work out, but that's not always the case--my wife's uncle has had a Passat for years now, and it's never given him one ounce of trouble.

Reliability ratings are a guesstimate at best.  The most reliable brand will make a lemon, and the least reliable brand will make a car that runs forever.  I'd rather choose my cars on criteria I know I'll experience--how they handle, how nice the interior is, whether I can afford it (to bring this back to the Jeep), etc.

Very comfortable seats.  Roomy interior--really what you'd expect from a half-ton in terms of cab space and bed space (we have the 6" bed), though obviously it can't tow or haul the same weight as a half-ton.  Handling and parking are terrible, but that's expected in a nearly-full-size pickup.  The automatic is smooth for my wife but hunts for gears with me...must be one of those "smart" Toyota automatics that adapts to the driver    Engine has tons of pick-up, and averages 20mpg (US) on the highway.  It's already picked up plenty of squeaks and rattles, and the headliner bows and flexes with the mere poke of a pinky finger.  It feels like cardboard.  Overall, I enjoy riding in it but hate driving it.

Well, it is a truck. Can't expect it to be like a car. 

To be honest, many new cars rattle. Our Odyssey creaks and squeks (interior)...same with our Sienna. BUT our 01' Accord doesn't at all. Solid...except there are a few interior bits that are misaligned.

Getting back on topic, autoextremist.com is reporting that Chrysler's product planning group is axing several models, including the Jeep Compass. Also going are the Chrysler Aspen, Pacifica and Sebring, Dodge Magnum and Durango, and Jeep Commander. The Patriot survives.

I would think it would stay in the lineup since we do see a lot here. Now maybe in the states they do not buy it, but maybe it would be better badged under the 300 label and not the Dodge.

Maybe it's just because I'm interested in the car, but I've been seeing these everywhere around here lately. One actually pulled in next to me yesterday in a parking lot and I asked the driver how she liked it. She said it was fine though it must have been her first Jeep as she said she found it rode rougher than a car. Today I was in traffic and a green Limited was alongside me. Looked great in that color with the silver bumper appliques. And as I was leaving my office (across the street from a Jeep dealer) a red one was pulling in. Nice color on these. They have a bright blue one in the showroom that is the only one I've ever seen in that shade.

I only wish it had a conventional 5 or 6-speed auto tranny.

Same vehicle - Dodge isn't branded for the UK. We saw a few of these milling around Bury area - my goodness, it was quite entertaining watching one driver try to navigate The Rock - their extremely narrow streeted Victorian-style centre-town area. What a hoot.

The Patriot would be a much easier vehicle to drive there, I believe
