The sorority girl car is finally here
« on: October 08, 2007, 01:48:43 pm »
I now have keys to a 2004 Jetta 1.8T GLS.  46,000 miles.  White exterior (chrome accents on the side moldings), tan leather interior.  It has the following modifications:

Neuspeed exhaust
TT downpipe
K&N filter
Forged diverter valve
4 bar fuel pressure regulator
REVO stage 2 ECU tuning kit (increases performance from 180 horsepower, 173 ft-lbs to 207 horsepower, 232 ft-lbs).
Upgraded front brake pads and rotors

I'll post pictures tonight.  This car is AWESOME.  I love it.

EDIT:  Pictures!

Ironically, the Credit Union who is financing the car for us is closed on Columbus Day, so the car won't be legally mine until tomorrow (since when does anyone get Columbus Day off from work?!).  But I have the keys and I'm going to drive it home tonight, so as far as I'm concerned, the car is mine.

Congrats!   May it keep you happy longer than the Legacy did :P

Also, whats this stigma about the Jetta being a chick car? I don't get it ???

Well chicks usually drive it.

Same with all VW's.  ;) No joke. Passats, Golfs, Jettas, Beetles...

ok ok i am sorry, enough of the stereotyping.

Passats are split 50/50 in my experience, and GTI owners are overwhelmingly male.

In my experience, MkIV Jetta owners are overwhelmingly 16-25 years old and female.  Not sure why that is, but the car has done very well with that demographic.  That doesn't bother me one bit, though...I'm not looking for a willy extender.  The car is very nice inside, nice looking, fun-to-drive, safe, good on gas, and affordable.  Sounds good to me, sorority girl stigma or no.

Well, I think your particular Mk4 Jetta has enough goods under the hood to put many potential taunters to shame.

I always thought the Mk4 was a guy car, actually...the new one is more Corolla and I can believe the Chick Car thing there, GLI aside.

Edit: Just wanted to mention, Mitlov, your new avatar is a bit girlie. ;)

Oh of course. I love VW's myself. Nice interiors, fun to drive.

Yes, the performance/modded ones are what the guys drive. My friend just bought a 04' Golf, and she loves it. 5 speed too.  ;D She chose it over a RSX (which is also a girls car), because the one she wanted was in an accident.

Honestly, so am I, so I don't particularly care.  I love Stacy London and Clinton Kelly.  What else can I say?  Still, I'll likely replace that avatar with a picture of the car itself in a couple days.
