Time to trade in the car ::).  But if you have to keep it it sounds like a trip to the dealer is in your future to get a Hal Hookup and check out your operating system. Maybe the Ram roamed. ;D

Doesn't like the gas you put in?  :) Per hap a power recycle of the electronics might help - disconnect & reconnect battery terminal. Else see dealer for further error instructions.

I had that once, checked the cap tightness the light stayed on , went to the dealer they found nothing, they reset the warning light and it never came back..  Try what Initial said, if it comes back then go to the dealer..

IIRC the light will not go off until the car has been turned off and on 3-4 times and the fault has not re-occurred.  Every time the engine is started the OBD checks fuel system integrity

I have been using regular octane from esso or shell or petro can for about the last two years. This warning has been on for about a week and comes on everytime even though the car has been parked and re-started. Will go the dealer and see what they say.....

Sounds like possibly the rubber seal on the cap could be tired and need to be replaced. the dealer will be able to read the code and tell you exactly what the problem really is. Hopefully it won't be very serious at all.  :)

My truck is prone to this if you overfill the tank, ie try to squeeze more in past the click off of the pump.  It does something to the computer as it messes up the evap system and sets the light off (in my truck it sets off the check engine light as there is no separate gas cap light).

Remedy?  Easy, I do not try to get in that extra 1/2 liter and just stop filling when the pump stops automatically.

But could also be a faulty cap.

Just sounds like the emissions system warning due to a not-well-tightened cap at one time (even if corrected now). Usually involves a quick trip to dealer, and a reset (not a big issue, but still annoying). Worst car I had (in fact the only one that did it) was a '02 Impreza, I must have had 5 or 6 CELs for fuel cap (even if it was tight). Could also be a fualty sensor.

Ya , I will give it a bit of time, like at least another fill up. It is true that sometimes I may have squeezed in a little extra. I know that this can cause serious problems if you over fill your gas tank and gas gets into that little hole at the top of your gas tank inlet that leads directly to the emmisions control system.Hopefully its just a faulty cap.

If it is a faulty cap, try not to buy one from Cdn Tire, the emission folks tell me they have a high failure rate when does caps on cars being tested

Dash has a good point as I would rather buy one from the dealer as they are not all that expensive anyways and know it will be the correct one for sure. I have also heard that about their gas caps as well.  :)

No I wouldn't buy a cap from crappy tire. At least thats what I was taught to call it as a kid.

warning light does not come on anymore. don't know what I did diffrently. Only thing I remember is that i filled the tank with more gas to the top for the weekend. (prob. about a quarter of the tank made it full).

Probably you corrected the error condition a few clicks ago, the computer finally updates.   Or your car just realized it is a Honda and Hondas don't do that check light thing.  :)
