Mitlov by the time your kid is a teenager he will probably have siblings and you'll be a rich ambulance chaser who has the secret files on everyone in your town and be driving his and hers Lexus SUVs.     ;) ;D  :rofl2:
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

After seeing one of the new CTSes and a new Benz C300 (in white with the sport pkg) on the 401 the other day, I have to say the new baby Benz is far and away the style-leader in the segment, in my opinion.  Incredible road presence and great proportioning, the C-class looks almost as imposing as an S-class.

Seen a few C-Classes, and agree it is HAUT!!!

The CTS is quite unique with the art & science theme, sharp edges and lines contrasted with roundness, and much more upscale than before (GO AMERICA! finally!!!), but the C's are in a league of their own.

I've sat in the CTS. I do not get this comparison to the 5-Series (even in mags), other than to say the interior is space inefficient relative to the exterior dimensions. Not as small an an IS or A4, but thinking the 3 would be more accomodating. After work I'm going to the BMW dealer to sit in the 3 and 5. The G35 does have a roomy back seat, cannot say the same for the CTS (most so with the pana roof).

CTS SEMA mobile. Cadillac needs to release this pronto.

Methinks we're looking at the bodywork for the new CTS-V.

I would expect the body work to stay very close wether its the V package or not as there will probably be a few small details such as special badging or a possibly slightly different grill that will set them apart but not much more then that at all. Definetely are a really nice car indeed.  :)

Drove the new CTS, very very nice. They got it right this time.

Hopefully the new CTS-V is not as much of a POS lemon as the last one...

Like TPL suggested, I'm certainly NOT worried about my kids fitting in the next car I get when they're teenagers.  At the rate I'm going, I'll have gone through at least another 8 cars by that time!  Besides, with a name like Giant Dwarf, did you really think I was freakishly tall?  :)  So the rear seat situation of the 135 should do me fine, next time 'round.

However, all this is speculation... I'll change my mind on which car I want next before I make my next purchase more than my underpants.

And Rrocket... if I recall correctly, I drove the Supra... carefully (well, at least once I clued in that the speedo was in Miles, not KM's).   ;D

In the CTS commecrial, the guy drives like a racer and this is what he sais....

"You can practice risk avoidance, you can aspire to blend in quietly, you can live in, wear, drive social camouflage. And you can believe in the philosophy that the nail that sticks out gets hammered down. …. Or… You be the Hammer!"

I'm lookin' at this and thinking... I'd buy that if I can drive like that all the time and not be "hammered down"...Fat chance!  :rofl2:  :rofl2:

Not as small an an IS or A4, but thinking the 3 would be more accomodating. After work I'm going to the BMW dealer to sit in the 3 and 5. The G35 does have a roomy back seat, cannot say the same for the CTS (most so with the pana roof).[/color]

Went to the Caddy, BMW, and Audi dealer.

The 5 Series was quite a nice piece. Quite roomy enough front and rear. The CTS does *NOT* deliver the space the 5 does, front nor rear, regardless of what the specs claim. I was somewhat unimpressed with the X3 and some other pieces of the interiors inside select BMW models, but understand the drive holds a great deal of the magic. The leathers were top notch, as were main buttons. Elbows were not comfy on the door armrests and the centre console in a lot of these luxury vehicles is sort of useless. I like the daring different designs of the interior tho.

Sat in the 3-Series. Well, actually sat sideways with my legs outside (door open) in the rear. Headroom is a smidgen better than CTS front and rear, rear leg room comparable... hard to say. Neither is all that roomy, and when you don't find hard to compare. At least getting into the rear is easier on a 3.

From those two, slipping into the Audis (Q7, which I formerly thought had lacked something - they do have more metallic inside now, was great) and the A6 was a treat. A6 was on par room-wise with the 5, give or take here or there. They're straight forward, yes, so lacking some design flair but everything is as it should be, and as expected at the pricing level. I know the drive doesn't compare to the BMWs. I didn't even try an A4, knowing it's probably smaller than the 3.

So, CTS is likely the best thing out of Detroit in some time. It does breakthrough. But I wouldn't say it offers the room of the 5 with the price of the 3. There's no Infiniti dealer near me, but I recall being very impressed by the previous generation G's interior space, so it probably owns the rest of 'em in that regard, and the price/value and even power/handling equation. That said, the G sedan doesn't appeal to me much for whatever reason.

The only problem I can see with the A6 is no manny tranny... and I suppose a bit too much understeer with that engine hung out in front.

The larger of the 2 engines in the CTS gives out around 304HP and also has the same fuel milage as the smaller engine thats available for them as well as a standard trasmission as well if one so desires it that way. They do move along quite well.  :)

At nearly 4000lbs its a bit of a porker (comparing power/weight ratio against 335, G35, etc.) but plenty fast enough...

Plus, you get a set of Michelin Pilot Sports with the performance package. Stick like glue. :)

My last issie of CarGuide arrived in the mail today.

On the back cover, a nice closeup of the front of a red CTS with the caption of:

NOT YOU. NOT YOU.
YOU.
BUT NOT YOU.

I completley agree with the following summary on the CTS from TTAC:
Quote
The Cadillac CTS is a beautiful, well-appointed machine with its heart in the wrong place. Once again, the brand’s guardians decided to chase highly-tuned European sports sedans instead of returning to the simple values that made Cadillacs– including the Escalade– American icons. Still, no question: the CTS represents genuine progress for the Cadillac brand. Minus the engine and suspension mistakes, they're right where they should have been 15 years ago.

So this Caddy saying "NOT YOU." to me is completely fine by me.  ;D

FOR  The CTS has striking looks and a classy cabin. It should also undercut most rivals on price and come well equipped.

AGAINST  There's no diesel yet, so running costs will be sky-high. The 3.6-litre car has an overly hard ride, while the boot is small.

The Running costs are no more then the cheaper engined version of the car but with much more power. Don't know what they are smoking but it wasen't the back tires of the CTS I would imagine as they really don't have a clue about it in my mind at all.  :)

The cost of gas is outrageous over that side of the pond, any car that Isn't the size of a shoe box, or a diesel will be expensive to run. Lucky It Is not too bad over here as of yet. It Is high, but not outrageous.  :)

Remember that Audi still equips cars (even the new A5 coupe) with the 1.8T over there, due to fuel costs.  And most competitors offer the diesel.

The CTS's running costs shouldn't be higher than that of an A4 3.2 or a 335i, but that's not what they meant.  They meant that there's no underpowered-but-fuel-efficient or diesel option.

Hmmm..  Don't know about the driving or handling, but the design doesn't appeal to me.  That centre console looks dated IMHO.
