Congrats!  They sure do pack a lot of features - and space - into that little car.  My wife wants one too.

Congrats Schmengie, this is IMO one of the best all around packages available in the segment, nice and solid, with so much pratical useable space, for a great price.

Versa is a great choice! It was on the top of our list when we were shopping for a sub-compact (I always had a feeling it is too roomy inside to be called a sub-compact). Congratulations!

Good call.  The Versa, from what I've heard, is a very competent small car.  Not as agile as a Fit or as fuel-efficient as a Yaris, but more solid, roomy, and powerful than just about any other subcompact out there.  And you can't beat five-door practicality.

It looks classy, too.  It's one of the only subcompacts whose aesthetics don't make me wrinkle my nose (no offense to any Fit and Yaris drivers, it's just my personal tastes).

EDIT:  After looking at pictures, I also have to say that the Versa has the nicest-looking interior I've ever seen in a Nissan.  How's the quality of interior materials?

:) Thanks, Mitlov. One of the first things I noticed about the Versa after I opened the door was the quality of the interior. There are cushy soft-touch materials on the doors and armrests and the plastics look and fit better than anything this side of a Lexus. There are a few surprising touches like the damped motions of the swiveling passenger-assist handles and even the glove box door! Instead of dropping and whacking my knee like I expected, it just glided open - very impressive. And it's huge - even bigger than the one in my brother-in-law's Grand Caravan. All the controls have a very high-quality look and feel solid. I can't really see anything that shouts CHEAP at all. Aside from a few quibbles like the lack of a standard armrest/console bin between the front seats and rather dim interior lighting there isn't much to complain about here. When I showed the car to my neighbours, they all commented on how good the interior looked. Nobody said that about my Neon and in terms of today's dollar the price was almost identical, so it's really quite amazing how far these small cars have come in the last few years. :o ;D

:hello:  I just wanted to add an observation. While the dealer was prepping my Versa, they lent me an Altima for a few hours, an '03 model I think. A very nice car, but I was struck by how plasticky the beige dashboard and door panels looked. The panel gaps weren't nearly as tight as I expected in a car that originally cost over 25 large, and sure enough a piece of paper slid easily between some of them. Not so in my Versa, and that amazes me.

PS - I'd like to thank everyone for your comments. So far, I really feel good about the Versa. I'll keep you posted. ;D

I read in at least one magazine that the Versa has better interior materials than any other current Nissan.  Impressive, as it's the cheapest.

Well, we just got back after our first trip in our new Versa, and it certainly exceeded my expectations. Not only was it more comfortable and a LOT quieter than any so-called econobox we've ever driven, but the fuel economy was amazing. Driving up some of the steepest and longest grades in the country, including the Kootenay Pass and the Monashee Pass, we averaged almost 7.1L per 100km's. And that's with 3 adults on board and so much stuff, including a hairdresser's chair, that one of the back seats had to be folded down. That's better than CanadianDriver got with a Honda Fit. :o Wow.

Rode with Dad to Kamloops and their CVT Versa is almost eerily quiet on the highway.

but I'm sure gonna miss that old Neon.... ;D

Funny how the pain of losing the old fades as the pleasure of the new sinks in... congratulations, sounds like an excellent purchase.
