Living in Squamish, I wouldn't be comfortable in winter driving on only summer tires. It only takes one or two of those nice, heavy wet snowfalls and you'll be glad you have winter shoes on.  Also, black ice conditions will be easier to handle with winters as the rubber is softer. Summers are pretty dismal as the temp drops. ;D
:iagree: The summer only tires on the SPEC-V weren't that good in the rain to begin with but simply awful when temps were below about 6-8c. I parked it on the few days there was snow.

What a great-looking car! Thumbs up Thumbs up I hope you enjoy it - I know I would!. (I'd have mine in red, though.... Wink)

Red is now available on the 08's again.  (Was a limited run color on early 07's).

Typically, I'm getting 8.3 L/100km fuel economy highway, which is 90% of my driving.  That number is based on the car's fuel usage calculation computer.  The car has 800 km on it so far.  I've tried to stay easy on the throttle too, but it's almost impossible.  :)

Wow! this is pretty good given the power being produced. My car gets sub 8L/100km on the highway.

I should note that the car's computer is probably not 100% accurate, so the mileage COULD be worse (or it could be better).  Also, my highway speed is averaging 70-80 km/h at most right now because of traffic, etc...  So in 6th gear the engine is in the 2000 RPM range.  Plus, at these slower speed, wind drag is less of a factor.  At 120 km/h speeds, I'm sure the fuel economy would be worse...

Your Camry's mileage should go lower with time.

Great car B2....any mods coming?

Not soon.  Maybe in a couple years.  But I may get snow tires & rims, depending on if I need them because the car has summer tires.

...but just remember, those Mazdaspeed intake and exhaust goodies bump you up to a nice, even 300 I believe.  (say, isn't that the same as an STI?).  :stick:  And the warranty will stay in tact too.  :)

:fiver:  I love your car!

PS.... my switchblade key does the same thing.  The Mazda ones don't seem to be as 'robustly built' as the VW / Audi ones.

Sigh....yes, it's the car of my dreams, but reality dictates otherwise. Now, if I could afford TWO cars.... ;D

If it's a dream car for you then it's reasonably attainable.  The car is incredibly practical, easy to live with, drives like a sports car, gets good gas mileage, is cheap to run & maintain, and doesn't cost that much.  Anyone with car enthusiasm blood and a decent job can afford this.
If you find a 2007 still on a Mazda lot, they are offering 1.9% financing and possibly less than MSRP.   :drive:

Well, maybe 32 large isn't 'that much' to you, but it is to me. I like cars as much as the next guy and I have a good job, but my new car budget is  about 22-23 grand at the most. My new vehicle needs to meet my family's needs, which means it has to carry 5 people on relatively long trips at least twice a year. I've been cramming them into my Neon for the last few years, which was OK when the grandkids were small, but they're growing fast. I'd love a MazdaSpeed3, but I need a Mazda5 or perhaps a Kia Rondo. Anyway, you enjoy that thing, OK?
