Just before I left Kanada I heard the OPP have, or will be purchasing light aircraft to control speeders.
Check out
www.radioworld.ca and buy yourself a communications scanner to monitor police communications. Yes, it IS 100% LEGAL to monitor police radio. I have a Bearcat BC 246T analog radio. The OPP have gone digital so a radio will cost a little more. Frequencies are available at
www.radioreference.com.
Aircraft can't pull over a vehicle, so they (police) usually do a blitz and set up an area to pull over the offenders. Aircraft calculates the speed of a vehicle and then RADIO's the vehicles speed and discription. Usually radio traffic is pretty consistant so before you reach the area that is known for aircraft speed control, you could just avoid that area all together. Green Lane in Newmarket is popular one and the scanner has saved me a number of times.
Or just look up in the air for de plane, de plane.
Happy Motoring!
