I'm guessing the final choice will be another Cayenne, the new X5, or maybe one of the Benz. Long shot - the FX Infiniti.

All other suggestions will be discarded.... ;) ;D

Mine goes back in October as well. I love the chase, but I vacillate about the final decision. I assume your Mom relies heavily on your input, so enjoy the test driving and nitpicking, I am.

My opinion definetly carries a lot of weight, the Cayenne was my idea, my dad "blames" me for this, my mom "thanks" me for it.

what are you considering?

New Caddy SRX with
- V8
- AWD
- Mag Ride Control
- DVD Nav
- Ultraview Roof

$76,735 MSRP
$1,057 per month lease with NO down payment

Take the 10 G's go to cabo.

Nope, won't happen, her two prior cars were Caddy STSs and we will not be getting another cadillac (at least if I have anything to say about it).  It took a lot of effort to get my mom away from that brand and I'll be damned if that effort was wasted.

Coworker bought a new fully loaded SRX a few months back.. his tranny blew this weekend. He...is....pissed....!

I don't know much about luxury SUVs, but as my husband was talking about wanting an SUV next, I did look at them a bit for him.

The two top vehicles I'd pick for trying are the MDX (value for dollar in premium SUV land) and X5 (for BMW driving dynamics).

I suspect though, based on what you told us so far, it will be one of the 3 top choices Ovr enumerated above.

By the way BJB, I said welcome back to you in another thread before I saw this thread. :)

A loaded Volvo XC90? I know it doesn't have Porsche's prestige, but it's a nice SUV. Maybe the Sport model?

The Porsche badge carries a lot of weight....as does Range Rover, BMW and Mercedes.  All other badges in the SUV class are a cut below.  Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, Volvo etc.....won't bring the badge chasers into the showrooms.

I'd look at a Range Rover Sport, BMW X5, MB R class, a MB G wagon/class, and the Porsche Cayenne.

:iagree:  The badge is the only thing most buyers care about.  Ask them about their car and they'll probably answer: Who cares it's a ____ !  ::)

My friend's boss owns a construction company and he recently returned his Lexus SUV (don't know what it was) and the dealership lent him a brand new Lexus GX470 while he made his mind up.  He said he won't buy/lease at Lexus again because the brand is not posh enough for someone like him. (whatever that means)  ::)

A lot of people choose SUVs for higher seating and the ability the see over/around those lowly cars. Its a comfort factor.

Its very difficult to find something with enough cachet to match the Porsche Cayenne.

As others suggested, Range Rover Sport, Mercedes G-Wagon, BMW X-5, Audi Q7 as alternates. She thanks you for suggesting the Cayenne, she might want to get another one despite the problems.

Thats an awesome shopping list though.

What have you test driven and what are you pushing for?

What has she test driven (if at all) and what is she pushing for (or has no idea?)?

Individual offerings from BMW or sold-order-only options from Audi could enhance the prestige factor. Would/could your mom wait for the vehicle, or has to take something already in dealer hands for a quick swap once the lease is over?

Are you suggesting this?  :P
This Papaya Orange Q7 S-line is apparently driven in BC. If anyone sees it, give the driver a  from me! Next time I would love a custom order colour and trim.

Plate looks to be from Manitoba.  Oh boy, that colour was a good idea on the Elise/Exige...but goodness, that's not pretty.
