2007 SE-R
« on: August 20, 2007, 10:29:51 pm »
Looked at Rabbit, Civic and Sentra. Test drove Civic and Sentra. After couple minutes in Sentra decided umm yeah I like it.

So we got the Sapphire Blue SE-R. 177 HP, 172 Torq etc etc. Wish I could have the Spec-V but what can you do? Parents insists they be able to drive it if they ever need to, so no stick  :'(. Even thought week after we put the deposit down they decided for the time being they'll only be in Canada for short period of times and they are keeping the old Explorer to putt around town in.

Looks are fine with me. I know a lot of people say they don't like it. And since I spend a lot of my time inside it then outside and I do like the interior overall I really do like the car.

So far Plus:

-Seats are comfortable
-Top safety ratings from all the crash testers
-Decent mileage for the performance (right now 10.3 L/100KM should come down more with break in)
-Driving dynamics is good
-Engine delivers the torque without needing to thrash it
-CVT drive train does compression breaking

Minus:
-No auto lock and unlock in D and P
-No auto lights setting so I kept getting beeped at from forgetting to turn of the lights. This also means no light your path feature
-No auto up on driver window(This is common it seems to a lot of cars why don't they just add this feature? Can't cost them that much more)
-People compares it to the Civic Si and tells me I got the wrong car
-Air vents are bit confusing to point
-Looks is not universally liked
-A pillar might get in your way sometimes

Overall there's a longer list of Minus then Plus here. However, the minus are small problems and I find other other cars too.

The A Pillar is always in the way. Curtain airbags. Its life.

I'll do some pics tomorrow if the lighting is good. The weather wasn't too helpful today. Maybe I'll even photo shop it so it looks like I used those filter they use when they shoot a car on Topgear  ;D.

Post pics please. No excuses accepted.  ;D

Oh and congratulations, its a pretty nice looking car. I like the interior a lot.

Have you checked that trunk organization feature? Its a pretty neat idea.

I had a regular one for a week's rental, overall a very nice car but I was missing my Camry.

Don't listen to people who compare your car to the Si, this is a very nice car, enjoy it.

And.....watch out for that trunk lid, it fell on my head few times, might be because of the rental.

I think they look quite good - tightly wrapped and sporty.

Engine should require less revving to get power which is nice for people traditionally used to larger cars or V6/8's.

Congrats!

Ok so it took a while but today I had some time to wash and wax and thought I'll take a photo after.

What I did find today while doing the wax is that Nissan's paint jobs needs work. There are various problems here and there on the car. Not sure if anyone else have find their paint job lacking...

Btw anyone want to guess what the car my neighbor has is?  ;D

Perhaps the neighbour and his wife are recently detached?

Yeah I scratch my head about it too, it's not aways there but it there a lot. Their other car is a Yukon go figure. Although the house pricing in this area is sky high cause it's close to subway and the local schools here are suppose to be very good. However, I think the prices are so high because developers are buying up old houses and making two townhouses, or in our case 8, on the same lot.

The neighbor and wife thing might be correct cause I see the lady a lot but the guy is around every so often. The car's his.
