...yeah, or too hot...  or going on the highway and don't want to be deaf, etc. etc.

I used to get so upset when I'd see convertibles with the top up on beautiful days, thinking how much a waste it is.  Now I understand.

I agree, once you drive around a few times with the top down in 35C plus weather, the attractiveness of the convertible wears off real fast....... :P ;D

I have finally come to the conclusion that I am NOT a convertible guy, at least not living here. I think Vancouver/Victoria have a close to the best weather possible for rag tops - not too cold, not too hot and not often windy (well, some wind in Victoria). Also, not dusty there.

Either that, or convertibles are best for 22 year olds (EDIT: and Saffy) who don't care if they fry their heads.  ;) ;)

That's why I will buy one with the regular roof...
In my next life, of course. At least in one of my lives to come, I hope...

Why not a removable hard top as in the Thunderbird or Ferrari F50?

I must be in the minority.  I still don't understand. There is no substitute for having the roof down. The roof is so thin, that it doesn't make much of a difference in terms of noise.   During my drive to and from work, I usually only see Miatas (and the very odd time MGB's) with the roof down and lately few newer mustangs.  The only thing is that I have to remember to wear a baseball cap to keep the sun out of my eyes.

I read and understood Saffy's post and I completely agree!

Not to mention ready access to the sea to sky highway.  Convertibles are fun at 60-80 km/h but it gets old fast at 120 km/h.

Convertible....been there, done that.  Love specific summer weather for droptop driving.  Low 20's, with a bit of wind.  When it's 30+ and not a hint of wind, being stuck in bumper to bumper traffic in a convertible with no air conditioning....no thanks.  If I had a droptop with A/C, top would be up.  I need shade in those temps.

The S2000 I test drove had an AMAZING climate control knob that was for top down motoring.  It was a 95+ degree day, and I was nice and cool.  It is without a doubt the best cooling system for top down motoring I've ever tested. ......
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

Wing, that Lambo top still has two benefits over the top on the Solstice:

1)  It doesn't take ALL of the cargo capacity
2)  It isn't attached to a Solstice

:fiver:

'Nuff said.
