Quote from: Wetson on August 24, 2007, 07:34:22 amI went into Mercedes on Wednesday. They didn't have any on the showroom floor but happened to have one in the basement parking garage. The sales rep took me down to have a look. Couldn't sit in it but got to admire it from the outside. It's a nice looking vehicle but not as sleek in person as the photos make it appear. (The one I looked at was white so the colour could have been contributing). A lot smaller than it looks in the pics and a little more boxier. None the less, still damn sexy. I may just get on the Merc. band wagon. We'll see. I'm awaiting the new Accord to arrive in the showrooms. New Accord vs. Merc ? You can't compare the 2!

No way I'd buy an 08. MB has a long history (even in their prime) of poor 1st year quality. That said, here's hoping The Star starts to shine again...

That's interesting considering that MB has consistently been WORSE than VW over the last 6-8 years according to CR.
I am aware of this, but there's still some glitter in that three pointed star.

I see from the review in the Tor Star that M-B still have the foot operated parking brake even with a manny tranny. When I took my driving test in the UK many years ago you could not pass the test with that combination unless the release of the brake was controllable like a manual lever is.
Not sure if it is still the case but Subarus with MT had what they called "hill holder" clutches for many years
Hi! I really liked your site! Keep this great work up!
