Yeah I know.  LOL.  BUT I've been doing ALOT of shopping and have come to realize I'm just going to have to fork out a little extra dough for what I want. Besides.... the styling on this baby is hot hot hot.  I'm surprised that Merc came out with it.  I configured one and I only added one option and it had everything else I would want as standard.  That option was $890 for the Carneol Red paint.

Would you be looking at the C300 Sport, or C300 Luxury?

Here's ten gazillion high-res pictures for you:

Here's a couple shots of wine-red C300s from the MBUSA webpage:

"Geography has made us neighbors. History has made us friends. Economics has made us partners. And necessity has made us allies. Those whom nature hath so joined together, let no man put asunder. What unites us is far greater than what divides us." -- John F. Kennedy, addressing Canadian Parliament.

Here's another red-wine color (from its competitor)

BMW's Barbera Red: EDIT with cream beige interior (and a specially ordered wood shifter)

I really have mixed feelings about that Barbera Red of BMWs. Clean and shiny, it is awesome, and in full sunlight, again awesome. Not so good once a bit dirty/dusty (much like black that way) and in dull light, it is really drab. I think it would not be my choice, but, who knows? I have seen several pix on Bimmerfest of the Barbera Red. I think I like the brighter red more. Can't recall it's name tho.

EDIT - Crimson Red.

I had a 1976 530i in Verona Red with gold spoked BBS mags on it, and a tan interior. Very sharp car (except in the winter when the BBS wheels came off and the steels went on  :P). Interestingly enough, I sold that car to my Calgary buddy who is now giving me the 745i.  ;D

Ovr, was your Verona Red like the one at the bottom of this page, at left:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://only02.com/db4/00357/only02.com/_uimages/73Downhill.JPG&imgrefurl=http://only02.com/_wsn/page4.html&h=960&w=1280&sz=325&hl=en&start=10&um=1&tbnid=odX5266eaQOckM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3DVerona%2BRed%2B%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26rls%3DGGLG,GGLG:2006-05,GGLG:en%26sa%3DN

mmret: Although I like the Barbera Red a lot, I don't think I'd choose it. I can't nail down the reason yet. It really complements the cream beige tho.

Julie - yes, that's Verona Red. Although some of the other colors are labelled incorrectly in that piece eg. opposite the VRed one is one he calls "BRG" which I can only assume means "British Racing Green". No German car maker would have a British Racing Green car color, and that color really is called "Mintgrun" or Mint Green. I know because my third of 3 2002s was a 1975 Mintgrun one. The two colors on the driveway pix of 3 cars that I recognize are the yellow (Colorado) and the orange (Inka). Don't know the blue one.

2002s NEVER had white roofs. Always one solid color.

Well, the styling looks to be a hit.  A few forum members have expressed a good interest in the vehicle.  Let's see who's the first to plop down some cash for this beauty.

I'm going to be a long shot on this car, the Honda van is looking to be a huge hit with the wife.

I went into Mercedes on Wednesday.  They didn't have any on the showroom floor but happened to have one in the basement parking garage.  The sales rep took me down to have a look.  Couldn't sit in it but got to admire it from the outside.  It's a nice looking vehicle but not as sleek in person as the photos make it appear.  (The one I looked at was white so the colour could have been contributing).  A lot smaller than it looks in the pics and a little more boxier.  None the less, still damn sexy.  I may just get on the Merc. band wagon.  We'll see.  I'm awaiting the new Accord to arrive in the showrooms.
