Ok , i just have to ask. Why do automobile journalists quote consumer reports so often? It has been recommended by them to avoid the 3.1 litre v6 for an engine with a leaky intake manifold gasket. Other than this gasket problem, the v6 line up from GM has been fairly reliable and economical to own.(yes they are kinda crude) How can these same journalists recommend the Toyota Camry and the like powered by their 3.0 v6 which is prone to sludging and Head gasket failure. I am not defending GM and their mistakes, but journalism should be fair, by sheer numbers i'm sure that the GM v6 is more visible in terms of repairs, but thats only because conumers purchased so many of them. All automotive manufactureres make great products, many vehicles have immediate problems, some dont have any issues until many years and KMs driven regardless of brand country of origin etc. I question consumer reports statements, how about printing statisics.
