Waterfront varys around Tallinn, there is the cruise ship port, and the container ship port, and to the east of Tallinn an area called Pirita that is very similar to Toronto's Harbourfront were the yacht clubs are, with many restaurants, hotels etc.In the summer there are many outdoor music festivals and theatre performances taking place in this area.
There are lots of beach areas as well. With the sea being quite shallow were the sand beaches are the water is very warm. Best beach areas are in south Estonia in and around the town of Parnu were one can find many seaside resorts and spas.
Winters in coastal areas are slightly milder then Southern Ontario because of the proximty of the sea, once inland such as areas like Tartu, Viljandi and Rakvere the temperatures are much the same as southern Ontario.
Not much snow in and around Tallinn, but again inland snow amounts are like southern Ontario. The big difference here regarding winter are the very short days meaning daylight, especially the later part of November and thru December, but then from May thru end of July ther is not much night time, It gets semi dark from 100am to 300am, which is really interesting. Everyone seems to up and about at all hours enjoying the long days.
