My new Ford Focus Ghia SW
« on: August 15, 2007, 02:59:48 pm »
As some know here, I moved  from Canada to Estonia last week and have been busy car shopping. I took delivery yesterday afternoon of a 2007 Focus Ghia stationwagon, colour is Panther Black exterior, interior is ebony/dark flint, engine is 1.6l TI-VCT mated with 5 speed manual. Being end of the year the choice of colours trim levels are very limited. Ghia spec the colour choices were Panther Black or Silver. Not being a fan of silver, black it has to be. Oh well I enjoy keeping a clean vehicle and this will be a good test of my detailing skills.
Again some on this forum know I have a 2002 Focus wagon here in Tallinn and I was planning on trading it in, but I the price on the road on this new Focus was much better then I had expected, so I have decided to keep this car for a couple more years.

I have a very hard time posting images here, śo was hoping maybe wing or someone wouldn't mind if I emailed some pics, and they could post on here for me.

I will bore you with the mile long list of equipment and extras and on the road price in Canadian dollars.  The listed on the road price was 26,000.00, which includes all taxes/fees and registration, 2 year unlimited mileage warranty, with the option of adding extended warranty of 3 years 100,000km (500.00) or 4 years 160,000km (800.00). I have up to 1 year to add the extended warranties, which  I am sure I will  do. The final on the road price I paid was  22,268.00CAD. :) :) :) :)  (And Ford of America uses the excuse the C1 Focus would be too expensive for North American market).

SirA, I am  totally blown away with the features offered for the money, and remember the price includes 18% VAT!!

I had a hard time not spending a few more dollars on the new Mondeo, this car absolutely is stunning in the flesh, especially the SW, could have had one on the road for about 30,000.00CAD, but with my budget I had to resist BIG TIME.
Going into the Ford dealership in Europe is a pleasure, with the facelift C-Max(thats a car for you SirA), the S-Max, new Galaxy, and they had 2 Focus ST 5 door, one was the Orange and the other was Blue, both were listed on the road for approx 36,000CAD

Wow, thats quite some content in the car.

Some luxury cars don't have that.

Does it look like this?
"Geography has made us neighbors. History has made us friends. Economics has made us partners. And necessity has made us allies. Those whom nature hath so joined together, let no man put asunder. What unites us is far greater than what divides us." -- John F. Kennedy, addressing Canadian Parliament.

Well done, MkII.  That's a great little wagon ya got there.  The subtle styling changes versus the NA version are just enough to make it look just right.  I'm sure the suspension changes help make it even more appealing to drive.

Thanks for sharing -- and please post more "interesting cars" you see on the roads around there!

Thanks!

Love the clean exterior styling, very cool wagon.

Those seats looks straight out of a Honda Accord or something, very nice. Like how the audio read out sort of comes out of no where with the whole face appearing piano black. Pretty monotone inside 'cept for the wood grain, but looks well put together.

No, I choose the 1.6 TI-VCT (Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing) because of the low end torque and very good gas mileage.
My 2002 Focus SW has the 1.6, and I find this new 1.6 TI-VCT engine mucho better,  more refined(sounds real nice), with much better low end torque .Lots of pull thru the rpms from 2000 and up (I have not wrung the motor past 4500 yet.
The specs for the  1.6 Duratec Ti-VCT 115 hp at 6000 rpm 115 ft/lb at 4150 rpm

In the Estonian market there are 6 powerplants offered in the MY2007 Focus,
1.4 Duratec ,1.6 Duratec, 1.6 Duratec Ti-VCT , 2.0 Duratec ,
2.0 Duratorq TDCi ,2.5 Duratec Turbo in the ST.

The 2.0l in the Focus ZX5 I had in Canada is quicker, but very un-refined & buzzy in comparison, and no were near as efficient as both the 1.6 & 1.6 TI-VCT.
FYI, the gas prices here are 1.24 Canadian, this is for the lowest octane which is 95, and the 98 octane is 1.30 Canadian.

Thanks SirA, I will have to get better pics. There was too much white light when taking those pics. The contrast of the ebony and dark flint is quite nice in better lighting conditions. The fit and finish is very noticeable as well, if it had Volvo seats I'd swear I was sitting in a V50.

And thanks for all the kind responses.
