Regarding Scoobs, according to CR the Impreza has been 4/5 on Body integrity for 5 years in a row.
The Legacy has been mostly 2/5 or 3/5 for 7 years, with a 1 thrown in there.

From what I recall reading on the boards, its the same...Impreza/Forester owners no issues, Legacy owner has rattles.

Does is help or make a difference knowing that the Imprezas are from Japan and the Legacies are from USA?

But the E92 is so much better
Faster, sleeker, and superior
You just can't compare those two cars
One's from Venus, the other from Mars

One day, a BMW (or a Lexus) is what I'll be driving
But until 3 years, that won't be happening
Oh why did I get the TSX, from Acura
When I could've just made-do with my previous car!

RE: the mesh grill on the ausi site. Check out the Impreza brochure at Subaru.ca. It's a pdf file. Go down to the accessories info and there is a pic of a silver 2.5 sport with the same accessory mesh grill. Looks way better me thinks!

Went to see Bourne Ultimatum yesterday (nice Touareg V8 and Golf GT 1.4 TSI TwinCharger by the look of it, very subtle placement) and at the theatre they had advertisements while waiting. One of which was for the Impreza and Impreza WRX... 4 lab-guys mildly racing around a race track listening to music, then heading back to the 'hanger' where German guy in a lab coat said something German in disgust.

The tagline "The Japanese car the Germans wish they'd built". With the lab coats and that tagline, not to mention the WRX 'you don't need a made-up character called Fast' they are picking on VW's GTI.

Think they could have done more with the ad, but was pleasant nevertheless, and Subaru needs mainstream exposure like that.

Subaru needs a lot more than just a VW-bashing ad to keep the WRX faithful interested in the new WRX.  How about (1) a thorough restyle and (2) fixing the Buick-soft suspension?

I saw same movie and same commercial this past weekend.

Me thought it was part of Subaru strategy to go more mainstream with the Impreza.

Agree with you on other point too, that movie was good for car placement.  Smiley

Not even sure the ad mentioned AWD. At the base price of the new Impreza, I'd be hooting and hollering at the AWD and std equipment list.

Not sure anybody noticed but the base Impreza's only have Drum brakes  Embarrassed

This  with the lame 4 spd auto and short geared 5spd manual takes some of the shine off the new model.

They havent addressed the NVH and mileage from the Transmission cost cutting.

If you look closer you will see alot of other cost cutting ...

I was looking seriously at a new Impreza, but now, other than awd, that is its only advantage now.

Huh Are people commenting on the braking performance of the new WRX vs. the previous version on test data or actual test drives?
