That's excellent.  What were those times?  and end speed; couldn't make them out.

Looked like low 12's that's awesome.  Now can you make it turn?

Good reaction time too.  The out of the gate was a big advantage.  Plus, what do you think the auto contributes to a better ET vs a manual tranny.

Allen: Heh...not it wasn't Snowy. It was just some kid.

Steve: That run was a 12.01@189 km/h to the Subarus's 13.26@168

Wing: It turns really well.  It's just not an autocross car.  Turbos don't spool until you're moving pretty well.  Much, much better on a track.

MD: The auto (with my higher than stock stall) makes it really easy to drive....more or less.  I brake torque it + pull the emergency brake on to bring the revs up, otherwise the tires spin.  I make about 7 pounds of boost on the line.  The 6 speeds are much more difficult to launch with authority.  Often they either bog or smoke the tires.

Cool video. That thing looked like it hooked up rather well.

You'll have to save that video for the "Real cars have a manual tranny" debate that is sure to pop up around here sooner or later.  ;D

Ahh yes, the cursed 12.01 of that night... that was your best run, no?

For the record, the 'kid' in the STi was running very well and very consistently.  He was limited by his car, not the other way around (which was the case with many folks there that night).

I do still have a few crummy pics to post yet too, Rrocket.  One of these days I'll get a chance to resize them and post...

I would imagine it takes a bit more skill to launch and run a manual car down the track vs the auto.  Not knocking rocket, but the things you have to do to keep the car going in a race where every 1/10 counts.  Launch, clutch, gas, shift.....

Well...not a big issue on an AWD STi.....rev it, and pretty much drop the clutch.  I asked a guy with an STi how hard he drops the clutch and he said he lifts his foot "as fast as you lift your foot when you step in dog crap".  His exact words, and a great analogy.....

No..I knew that.  The Supra does handle great...but I know the reality that the Supra is no autocross car....I really high number of guys at Supraforums do use the Supra as a track car...The Supra needs room to stretch its legs a bit.  The S2000 is a great autocross and track car..

I have to drop my clutch like that, I rev to about 5500rpm or so and bam really hard.

Can the clutch stand up to repeated abuse like that?  Someone on our forums said he did it with his S2000 and it lasted a mere 10 runs...
