That officer did a wonderful job of educating thousand of drivers in one single stroke of his pen. Good for him. 

Oh puh-lease.  The "thousands of drivers" had no idea why the guy was pulled over. The only people who knew the real reason were those in the direct vicinity. And if the thousands of drivers were looking at the police write a ticket, isn't that just more rubber-necking?? 

Then how is it that WE are discussing the event? I certainly was not "in the direct vicinity"!

Wasn't the charged driver operating a moving vehicle with both hands on a camera?  I don't think that would be considered careful driving.

Tar spill closes Highway 401 collectors west of Keele Street

This is the second incident on this stretch of highway in less than a week.

On Wednesday, a truck carrying liquid sugar rolled over and blocked traffic for more than seven hours.

Is something wrong with that part of the highway or is it the drivers? Just asking those of you who drive this stretch more often...

I think it was taking a curve too fast.

There is nothing wrong with that section of highway...the speed warning sign says 80kph along that section as the road looks like 'esses' and I imagine the weight shifts and then re-shifts which unsettles the truck.  I've been through there at 120+ before without any problems but I also don't drive a truck.
