Congrats, Grandma!  Now you have to change your name.  What shall we call you?  RedBug?

Thanks Brig!!  The Salsa Red is alot nicer than I anticipated.  It even seems to change colour depending on the weather and time of day.  I also find that in contrasts nicely with the black leatherette interior.

As for the name change, RedBug may work.  Maybe, then, I can shake the "Grandma" moniker.

Thanks mmret!!  Actually, I've been quietly hunting for quite some time.  I knew it would be a Volkswagen, but I didn't know which one.  The Jetta's residuals are low and Rabbit financing is still high.  The Beetle seemed to be the best of both worlds (2.9% and a 47% residual after 4 years and 100000 km).  I also loved that the Beetle comes with leatherette interior as a standard option.

As for the build up of anticipation, my wife finally said to "just go and get it".  I then made the deal the following day.

That sounds like a good idea for a custom license plate.  :)

RedBug, are you going to be put 3M clear film on the rocker panels?  I find it helps prevents scuffles on the paint and clear coat when people (kids especially) enter and exit the Bug.
