i am contemplating the ride situation.... i still have a few things to look after like negotiating a better interest rate with the bank, a few rock chips and the installation of the XM radio....

so i figure wed, thurs or fri.... i am even willing to hitch hike... well worth it!!

Greyhound will cost around $50 then you'll have to take transit.

delphi skifi 2... and most likely it just controls  the volume.... our choices of music stations is really hurting... especially with "big daddy"  sometimes playing anything... is not a good thing so XM radio is great!!

hey people... i negotiated the xm radio in this puppy and want to make sure they install it right.... where is the best place to find the mount that would be placed just above the vent above the radio?

thanks.. in advance...

The dash pic was a little fuzzy, but it seems there are two slot like drawers ahead of the shifter and below the radio.  I would hide it in either of those spots and use the remote to change channels.  Definitely would not mount it like a CB radio on the surface.

What are the warranty details on this vehicle?  Can you buy an extended warranty from BMW Canada to 160,000 km.  If you have tranny issues out of warranty you might as well use the vehicle for a large boat anchor.

Awesome looking 330ci rock, excellent colour combo. Not my choice for transmission, but should still be a hoot to drive anyway. Enjoy!

Firstly,     .... but since you mention you're seeking bank financing did you look at a Certified Series Bimmer from a BMW retailer?  Some of their rates are 2.9% and they come with the awesome extended warranty which is a must have IMO.

Is this an off lease Bimmer?  I have had 2 used Bimmers that have come thru Sherway Acura after the initial lease period.  They must be plugged into a large dealer group because they resell a large number of Bimmers.

i am assuming... they have a great selection and i do believe the manager worked at a bmw dealership....

i just finished reading the feed on warranties and it concerns me a little, however, i have a mechanic here in sudbury who is great... ( he worked at a bmw dealership...)  and i agree the option of banking the money otherwise spent on the warranty and go from there....

i have looked at the bmw website and researched the 330ci smg and the prices on average are 5 - 7 grand higher with approx the same mileage to 20 k under... colour schemes are just ok....

i am sure there is a better deal out there somewhere .... i am extremely happy with this one though....

thanks to all for advice and opinions...

I have a skifiII mounted in my e46

Bracket attached uder the trim just right of the radio.  Skifi car mount screwed onto that and permanently wired via the CD changer circuit.   ( after this was done I discovered there is a neater way with a little connector from BMW that forms an AUX connection... but on your newer car this may be built in)   Antenna on the front of the roof.   So I can take the radio from the car to the home kit... wher it is plugged into AUX on a BOSE radio/cd player.

Steering wheel volume controls work and its not in the way. I dont use the remote in the car as I have the channels I use programmed.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I am sure your Bimmer mechanic in Sudsbury is first rate, but a 2004 330 with a SMG is a far cry from a 1998 328.  Your guy will not even be able to read the codes.  I figure there is probably only one senior tech in any given BMW dealership that can work on that tranny because of the newness and complexity of the thing.

Without question you should get the VIN and phone the BMW dealership where this 04 330 was bought and serviced and confirm that all necessary service work was done to it, particularly the tranny.

Since you say Sher way Accra is at least 5 K cheaper for a better car than any Bimmer retailer, then just to be squeaky safe, run your own accident check.
