Tow it to a mechanic.  :)

Just curious, when was the last oil change for the car?  :)

GMtina Welcome to the Forum, Is this the 2.2 or the 2.4 engine in this car? I am thinking possibly the problem is in the distributor with the Ignition module. This is a small black flat part with a plug type device on each end of it. Also check the Battery leads for a good ground as a loose or dirty ground will do the same thing on occasion.  :)

I agree as its rather unusual to start off with a poll on a car problem here. Does the poster want to have a proper answer or a guessing contest on what it may be?  :)

If the engine catches then dies, it sounds like a problem with the idle air control (IAC) valve or fuel delivery system (fuel pump, filter, injectors, etc).  Have the IAC valve checked and cleaned, and see if it helps.
