Just got back from our first trip with my wife and 2.5 kids (0.5 to 1 due next week). Wow, M5 is a quiet, comfortable, and zippy hauler! OK, it is automatic; with our habit to change cars every few years, we had to think about selling it...

A few more answers:

Windows in the sliding doors do roll down, and they roll all the way down!

I am not sure about older MPV; I think it is much smaller than current one. In Europe there is a nice competitor to M5--Opel Zafira:

Maybe GM will re-badge and bring it in, who knows...

Echo is for sale for 7950.

Thanks for your comments!

Ford in other markets re badged the Mazda Premacy (Pre-M5), called it the MAV. Was a good vehicle, seating for 7, rides like a taller Protege. Could of done well here with Ford.

Made me looked. Was expecting an autobahn stormer from Bavaria.

Nevertheless Mazda5s are cool. Neighbour has one. He uses it to haul all kinds of stuff!

Sorry to disappoint you  ;)
A new autobahn stormer coming next year or two to replace my STi, but I don't think it will be from Bavaria; maybe from Ingolstadt? Well, I also want to see how good the new STi is.

Those pictures (both/all) are very like the Rondo.

Windows in the sliding doors do roll down, and they roll all the way down!

Thanks - glad to hear it.  My kids are enjoying this about the Rondo as well after our station wagon, in which the back windows didn't open fully.  But speaking of kids, I remember when we looked at the Odyssey the salesman showed us a safety feature that prevented the door from sliding all the way open if the window was down, or vice versa... can't recall.  In any event, point was that open window plus open sliding door = big owie.  Any risk of that in the M5?

Congrats vz64!

I love that blue color by the way. At the autoshow, I was pleasantly surprised at the interior spaciousness of the "M5"!  ;D

New vehicle, new home, growing family, triple congrats!!!  ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Julie; I also have a relatively new job... and it is only one block away from my wife's office, so we can commute together!

Those sliding doors on M5 have the same child lock as regular doors, so it is fine.

Well, Mazda 5 beats M5 in... in cargo space and the number of people I can carry! And if I need to play with that Bavarian monster, I still have my no-frills STi...

I do like the 5; it's a shame the other half doesn't.  :(
