MGR's Gold Class vs. NXT wax
« on: May 11, 2007, 03:03:37 pm »
My current Meguiar's Medallion wax is running out. Just wondering if the the mainstay premium Gold Class still as good despite the NKOTB NXT version?
I like to get Zaino but not easily found in local auto stores.

You can get Zaino online in Canada...if that's what you want...go with it.  It's time consuming though.

I have no qualms against MGR products so far. I read Zaino is god-like but it can also be buyer's reinforcement. Also with two cars to wax/polish I like to keep it simple. Chances are I will prolly get the Gold Class. That Benz look better than that ricy car on the NXT's bottle.  :)

I've now changed over to Zaino. I also avoided it in the past due to the number of steps and time involved, but this year they've come out with an AIO product that you use just like any other OTC product, for those of us who don't have the time or inclination to do the old multi-step process.

It's not cheap, but the shine is top-notch and evidence so far is that it's quite durable.

To answer your original question, I have used both Meguiars products and would give the nod to the NXT.  VERY easy to use, VERY nice shine and reportedly very long lasting (I only tried it for the first time a couple days ago).  It is also relatively inexpensive and doesn't require and twelve step process and the better part of a weekend to use.

I have not used the Zaino products, but those that do swear by them.  I have used some pretty high end multi-step Zymol products and I find the NXT gives very nearly the same results at a fraction of the price and effort.  If you have both time and money in abundance, the Zymol stuff is quite excellent.
