Some current cars are available in colours like electric orange and lime green - love those; would buy them in a heartbeat if the car I wanted came with those choices. On the other hand, Lexus has a model out in a sort of pearly-blue white that is truly swoon-worthy. I do like it when a car's colour shows some character; it doesn't have to be loud, just interesting. Doing the expected is so... unchallenging. Even putting red on an Alfa is just ho-hum when all Alfas are red; to me it's not so much about the colour but about trying something new once in a while.
The other day I was out with my daughter, stopped at a big intersection in Richmond where the traffic on the cross street to our right remained stopped for a moment after we were also stopped - for the left turners or another direction to go. What we saw on our right were four lanes of stopped traffic totalling perhaps 30 cars, ALL of which were either white, silver, grey, or something that blended in (I think there was a dark blue one but you had to strain to distinguish it). It was such an astonishing sight that it caught both our attention. There are DEFINITELY too many of those on the road.
Later EDIT: umm, that was on our LEFT, for those who have trouble picturing the intersection!
