Clean at last
« on: April 20, 2007, 02:51:16 pm »
Finally a sunny day and a driveway big enough.  The hard water around here doesn't make it an easier to get a clean car. The BMW will go and be clay barred and detailed soon and the Fit will get waxed I guess this summer sometime

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Umro. If the Fit number plate had been BAJI instead of BAJJ....    I have seen but do not possess a picture of a great grandfather in full imperial dress... out in India ( I presume) in the Imperial civil service. I imagine he would have had a solar topee for the hot season. The last relative who would have known anything about him died in the 1980s and she would never have met him.

Nice. Think that's the first photo of your vehicles I've seen. Both are the colour combos I would have chosen if I were buying. What interior is your BMW? Looks almost terra or is the sun making the seat look off?

I think I am going to wash mine today as well  :D  Was driving around at lunch and didn't want to stop. My mileage is much improved in this weather too. Noticed yesterday we have violet flowers blooming in the back yard. Spring has sprung

Interesting. BAJI is a word used for 'elder sister' in Urdu/Hindi. Bao Ji would be father in Hindi.

Does BAJI have any significance for you?

Theya re the first photos I have posted  :o
The BMW interior is leather and was called "natural brown" in 2003  and supposedly was not available with dark green but the salesman entered it anyway and it arrived.   It is between "saddle brown" in the 3 series coupe pictures on bmw.ca and the natural brown on the 528 section.   For some reasom "terra" interior wont display on my PC today

Nope AirB.   I will go to my local detailing shop.... clay bar like polishing with a rotary device is something I'd prefer NOT to learn about on my car nor yours.... if thats ok ?

Please do.  :)

Clay barring is actually a very rewarding experience.  The results are incredible...  can't wait to get home and shine mine up for selling.

Hoping so.  Now that I don't "need" my car (since I'm not relying on it to get to and from school), and I'm only driving it in the summers, I figure I can go with something a little older, nuttier, and more fun.

Right now my short list is Miata, 240SX, and RX-7 (in that order), but it's hard to say without actually haven given them a proper test drive.  I did drive an NB Miata last summer, and remember it not being quite what I expected, but I'm eager to give one a proper drive and see what I think.  Plus I love the wide range of aftermarket support for the car...  were I to buy one, I know exactly what I would be gunning for in terms of what it would eventually look like.  :)

I also adore the 240SX with the JDM turbo engine...  bloody fast cars, they are!

There's also a couple JDM cars available on the Island I want to take a look at -  the Toyota Soarer (JDM Lexus SC400) interests me, but I have a suspicion it's not quite what I'm looking for.  Still, the price is good and the car is pretty neat.

 8)

Once I'm home and have had a chance to settle in I'll put up a thread...  I'm open to other cars, too!  :)

There's a yellow (rare) NA Miata for sale in TO.  Supercharged and should be a good runner.  Brother's friend may also be thinking of moving his 240SX (modded to the tee's)....Good luck in the search....
