Hi TPL.

The third row really seems to fold flat ?

Yes, it is flat.  On the models that do not have the 3rd row seat, there is a small storage area under instead.

Can you ditch those third row seatbelts?
Can that subwoofer be removed temporarily to carry loads?

No, not easily.

Hi Citydude,

Thanks for the picture. Indeed, mine looked different from the factory. I did the DIY fix, but it worked. I did not put any foam on those tabs though, just around them.
Is that foam sprayed or some sort of adhesive backed foam? I cannot see from the picture. I wonder if I put some foam on them, would they still fit when I mount them back? Wouldn't they be too high? I guess I will give it a closer look.
Thanks again.

That looks great!   Thanks for posting.

How is it to drive?

I think the new Outlander is very good value.

I have 1500 km on mine and it does drive great. The handling is great, the power is enough and some more, the highway ride is smooth (I have the LS with 16" alloy), the breaks are great. At least I love it. I love my Mazda3 GT, but I'd rather drive the Outlander. My wife, which has no clue about cars or like to drive, drove it and she was wow !!!... She even started to comment on how nice it drives (!!!). No joke or lie here. I think I'm in danger since she was supposed to drive the Mazda.

It was indeed adhesive backed foam wrapped around the 2 tabs, they are very thin that's how they fit (tightly).  I think what it does is it prevents the whole plastic piece from moving (vibrating), which I assume was the cause of the noise.

Looks like a very nice crossover SUV.  More driving impressions please :)
